Which supplements work for diabetes?
The incidence of diabetes is increasing at an alarming rate worldwide. Worldwide, approximately 250 million people have diabetes—according to the World Health Organization. In Canada, the number of patients with diabetes is projected to increase from 1.4 million in 2000 to 2.4 million in 2016 [1]. What’s more is that the health care cost associated with this increase in Canada will jump from $4.6 billion in 2000 to $8.14 billion in 2016.
Keep in mind that even these projects do not include people who have type 2 diabetes, but haven’t yet been diagnosed. As well, approximately 90% of diabetics have type 2 diabetes.
